• Conjunctions are connecting words that join two or more sentences, words, phrases or clauses.

• Conjunctions help avoid unnecessary repetition of words.

• They often stand in the middle of a sentence, but can also be used to start a sentence.

Example: I like fish and chips.

If you drive with your eyes closed, you will cause an accident.
